Parent’s Day Out Preschool

And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
Matthew 18:5 (NIV)

At Fellowship United Methodist Church, we have a nursery school program called Parent’s Day Out (PDO). We serve children ages 1-5 (Pre-K). Each class has a Teacher and an Aide. Our staff provides a safe and loving environment where children can learn and develop social skills, fine motor skills, and much more.

Classes meet two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) from 9:00am to 2:15pm. We follow the Clarksville-Montgomery County School calendar.

We place your child’s safety as our number one priority and welcome you to call or visit our school anytime. If you would like more information or to register your child for the upcoming school year, please contact Ms. Sonia Nieves, PDO Director, at 931-920-0127 or email her at: sonia@fellowshipumc.com. You can also register in person at Fellowship on Mondays and Thursdays between 10:00am and 12:00noon. Or you can visit us on Facebook at Fellowship Church Parent’s Day Out.

About our classes:

Ones: Our one-year-old class holds 8 children. A Teacher and an Aide work hands-on with your little ones to help them learn how to play and share with others. Arts and crafts activities focus on hand/eye coordination as well as color and shape recognition. Teachers also help with the proper articulation of words and sounds. One-year-olds have a snack, a home-packed lunch, and nap time (pacifiers, dolls, and blankets are welcome during nap time), as well as many other activities.

Twos: Our two-year-old class holds 12 children. A Teacher and an Aide work with the two-year-olds on many age-appropriate activities and skills such as colors/shapes, music time, arts and crafts, etc. Two-year-olds have a snack, a home-packed lunch and nap time. The two-year-old class is more structured than the one-year-old class as children will begin learning how to sit at a table and follow group instructions such as walking in line. It is not necessary for two-year-olds to be potty trained.

Threes: Our three-year class holds 18 children with a Teacher and an Aide. Letter/number recognition, cutting with scissors, etc. are the type of skills that will be taught in this class. Twice a year, the teacher administers an assessment appropriate for this age with a combined parents’ conference. Three-year-olds will have a snack, a home-packed lunch and some quiet time (no nap).

Fours: Our four-year-old class holds 18 children with a Teacher and an Aide. The four-year-olds will be learning kindergarten readiness skills so they will be ready when it is time for that major milestone in their lives. Towards the end of the year, four-year-old children will be administered an assessment to determine which skills they have mastered and which skills they may still need to practice. Twice a year, the teacher administers an assessment appropriate for this age with a combined parents’ conference. Four-year-olds will have a snack and a home packed lunch.
